Catalog Number: CG-0095
This small specimen represents four leaves of the genus Neuropteris. These were arranged on a side branch, as each stem of the species had a number of side branches of different lengths to make what is a classic fern shape.

These come from a shale layer about twenty feet below the Brush Creek Limestone locally. While I am fairy certain that I am in Brush Creek, it is still not for certain.
In the photo below, you can see a nearly complete specimen. The location is not known, however it is listed as Neuropteris, upper Carboniferous.
