Tolypannina and encrusting forams in general are a new subject for me. I have long wondered what the tiny growths were in many specimens I have collected. I recently attempted to identify the Crinoid Calyx Plate specimen. @Missourian, a member of the Fossil Forum, noticed that it was likely covered with this genus of encrusting foram.

I originally considered these growths as recent in origin. However, I find the structures in sealed limestone, dismissing this old assumption.
