Catalog Number: CG-0012
My first Wilkingia find was in soft eroded matrix. I found this specimen while exploring a new locale. A 6 foot by 2 1/2 foot by 7 inch thick slab of limestone that was only 6 inches from the stream bed. With help, I slowly removed soil and clay from the top and got the entire rock out into the open. We slowly split it in half. Eventually this piece showed up, dimensional and well detailed.
The entire specimen is about 60mm in length. I found it by removing it from the original matrix with some additional matrix on the top. While removing more matrix with an air chisel, the bottom left chipped off. I have wanted to attempt to glue pieces using Paraloid B72, so I went ahead and tried it. It seemed to hold just fine.
